who we are

The Uccello’s Story

Servicing West Michigan for over 45 years.

In 1978, Faro Uccello opened his first pizza shop in Grand Rapids. The community loved his authentic Italian food, which inspired our founder to expand to eight locations over the next decade. In 1990, Faro decided to sell his franchise and move back to Sicily, Italy to be closer to family. As often happens, circumstances changed, and the family moved back to Grand Rapids in 1996.

It was then that Faro opened Uccello’s Ristorante Pizzeria & Sports Lounge on East Beltline. Uccello’s Ristorante now features seven locations servicing all corners of Grand Rapids, with restaurants in Caledonia, Downtown Grand Rapids, East Beltline, Grandville, Rockford, and Standale.

Of course, Faro’s love of good food and engaging community didn’t end there. In 2016 – 2017, Uccello’s Hospitality Group opened the fast-casual concept Herb & Fire Pizzeria, with locations in Grandville near Rivertown Mall and Knapps Corner near Celebration! Cinema North on East Beltline.

Franchising

Franchise opportunities are limited, and only the most qualified candidates will be considered. Business management experience is essential, full-service restaurant experience is a plus, and before we consider your application, you must first visit an Uccello’s restaurant.

Our Team

All of the Uccello’s Ristorante and Herb & Fire Pizza locations are owned by the original Uccello’s family. Torey Worst, Sergio Uccello, Faro Uccello, Mario Piccione, and their supportive families help us maintain the tradition of excellence that defines our establishments.

Our trusted executives help sustain us. Nick Langendorfer (Vice President), Juliane Mulcahy, (Operations & Team Resources Manager), and Emma Caperton (Marketing Manager) oversee the management, operations, and marketing team. They are truly fantastic at what they do.
